How have you mounted the exhaust silencer to down pipe clamp.
Mine is currently with the allen head bolt facing vertically up in between the outside and bodywork.
Do i need to rotate it slightly
You need to check the manual on this one Jos. For the external protrusion check i think they use the cone. If the other end of the bolt is sticking up
tho i think they can use the 100mm sphere as well. Mike (Guiness) had a problem with this. Ive fitted a Mikalor clamp (doesnt have allen head)
supplied by Mac#1 and fitted it at an angle such that the head is underneath the exhaust but rotated to clear the 35deg cone and the free end of the
bolt is pointing towards the bodywork (obviously pointing upwards a bit). I might have to shorten the end of the bolt on mine unless i can find a M7
dome head nut! Shortening gives the other problem of potentially rendering the clamp scrap if it has to be removed.
Maybe you should try and post a few pics Jos.
A few points to check;
1. Battery terminals - fully covered and no visible conductors. Ive used the premier wiring quick release jobbies with excellent covers and they can
still fail.
2. Cables etc fully secured and away from heat sources (ive not routed anything under the exhaust).
3. Battery cables supported where possible - ie no long unsupported runs. Also battery fully secured down.
4. Sharp edges where side panel meets back panel and also around cut-out for roll bar.
5. Hazard warning light operative with ignition off (ive had problems due to using DD2).
6. Rear seat belt mounts covered.
7. All crimps and electrical connections fully insulated.
Of course there are also the much publicised cables correctly supported / protected, suspension etc covered up. Also watch out for the screws that
hold headlight glass in place. Ive also been advised to take tube of silicon by SVA man in case rear light screw holes have to be filled in.
