The drum brakes on my donor car don't look to good and i tried to get new ones, to no avail as they are no longer in stock at Ford.

My question is; how hard is it to replace with Disc or should I just go with the drum brakes?

what donor car is it??.

am pretty sure escort mk2 or sierra ones are avilable from any motor factors.

All the bits are available except the adjusters for sierra, escort and cortina.

I have the full set up off a mk6 escort can on my cortina axle. Works a treat Every bit is available still.

it's a Sierra 1.8 (H) and Ford in Aberdeen said " they no longer stock to back plate and all the bits ". Is fitting Disc's a real b***er of a job?

I personally would convert to disk many kit suppliers do the brackets to do this mnr charge around 30 quid for the brackets then got to source calipers and disk but will be worth it

Drums are available but they cost about £35 each new.

go for the disc conversion ewan mac1 do the plates needed then just bolt on sierra rear discs and calipers job sorted you know you want them
will probably have to do the same with my new build as it only has drums. i wont be using them so if their good i could pass them on to you.. i will let you know as i'm stripping it on monday evening.
