Tony Law exhausts, Leeds, anyone used them?
fha772 - 23/1/13 at 04:05 PM

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone here had used Tony Law exhausts?

I thinking of having an exhaust made for my car, and somebody mentioned these, and I wondered if anyone had any experience with them?
If so, what was the quality like?
What are their prices like?

Cheers Frank.

They are the best in the business in my opinion

Just received a new manifold from them last week actually. No option for stainless tho.. i think all his stuff just comes VHTP Black.

Fair few RGB guys use them with very good results (and prices).

As stated though, the only downside is the lack of a stainless option

They are very good but if you want stainless steel then look somewhere else as he doesn't do SS

Benzo - 23/1/13 at 04:43 PM

AB now do stainless, but you are looking at a around £900 for a tuned manifold, where my tony Law manifold was £440 all in.

Tony Law is the best in the UK.

His mk2 escort 'bunch o' bananas' for rally escorts are exhaust porn!

Definatley knocks up a good exhaust, but for me no stainless is no good, i looked at getting a tony law 400ish and then getting it ceramic coated 350ish but stainless won in the end .

These are who you should talk to

Mate uses his manifolds on his Mk1 & 2 Escorts and wouldn't fit anything else
Widely renowned as one of if not the best mild steel type systems & manifolds in the business

If you want nice polished stainless though you'll be looking elsewhere...

franky - 23/1/13 at 10:49 PM

The link I put in will give you stainless with the same performance as a 'tony law' system for the same price as a steel one.

Is that who built your exhaust for your M3 engine?
If you don't mind me asking, how much was it?

franky - 23/1/13 at 10:58 PM

Yes it was, I've had 3 done there now.

The m3 one was about £750 for the full system I think. That was matched length/around the chassis and steering shaft, 6-3-2-1.

Tony for the same exhaust wanted £1.8k in mild steel.

fha772 - 23/1/13 at 11:13 PM

That sounds reasonable.
They've just quoted me, this evening, £1300+vat, for a system for my Merc W123 Saloon, it seems a bit steep, even though there stuff looks good.
I was looking closer to £750-900 inc vat.

who was it who quoted you?

fha772 - 23/1/13 at 11:39 PM

The name on the emails is Paul Walton.

Been quoted elsewhere, £400-500 for a custom stainless system minus manifolds, so I was thinking about £300-400 max for the manifold, that's how I got to my rough idea of a price of £750-900.

OK, just so we are clear...

Tony Law is very good, but doesn't do stainless?

...and are at the top end of the price range.

beaver34 - 24/1/13 at 09:17 AM

for manifolds ive allways been given a price of around £200 per cylinder,

I was at Windle Sidecars with Scootz ages ago, and their exhausts are very nice, they are Mansfield. Deal a lot with 4 stroke F1 sidecars, their fabrication is excellent.

And they are really friendly as well.

Cheers for that, they might be worth a look.

How's the 126 build coming?
I've not seen any updates on the PPC forum lately.
