is 130 bhp at wheels about right for a 2lt zetec its got honda blackbird carbs newman fast road cams no cat.
the engines are
136 BHP 93-96
130 BHP 96+
but i found a 2L in the scrapyard with 139ps on the cover so now i have the head off that. so your already got 130.i dont no what you will have with
the carbs and cams and no cat but you gotta have about 150

i think this engine has 100 bhp at wheels in a mondao
yep quoted at crank.
2l with carbs and good ignition should give 165 @ crank, add the cam and it should be 175 ? shouldnt it ?
Take away transmision losses ect and I would still hope for a tad more than 130 @ the wheels.
I am hoping for at least that with out the cam.
I think it depends on the dyno you use ?
running omex ecu disapointed with 130 bhp at wheels +25% transmision would give 175 bhp at fly 175
- 25%
= 130
its not enough

in my hands that would be deadly i'm bad enough in a scooby
So how does it compare with a scoobie ?
I havnt driven either
feels a bit faster to 60 than the scooby no competition in wet
Just what I've observed but a typical 2L Zetec on the rollers I use will show 150-160BHP flywheel with carbs or throttle bodies, no internal
mods.
A good method for working back from flywheel figures is to subtract 10 BHP and then take 10% off for FWD or 12% for RWD. More simple allow about 17%
for loses. Thats been a good method on loads of cars I've seen over the years.

175 is pretty good from a zetec with standard head and cam.
156 bhp is 20 more than standard . carbs could give 10 bhp. cams 10 -12 bhp.omex ecu and no cat 10 bhp . thats 30-32bhp that would give 166 -168 bhp at fly -17%=139bhp where has my 9bhp gone??????????
Mine has 208 bhp & 172 ft/lbs on throttle bodies, Emerald ecu, uprated cams & some head work but standard valve sizes.
Figures on Emerald rolling road.
Cheers
