MAC#1 ZR Project Update.
Gents,
I thought I would do a quick update on where I am regarding my engine swap.
Well, all remnants of the Pinto engine have disappeared and the MX5 1.6 Lump is now well and truly looking at home, however, things are a little bit
more compact!
The car is now running a 1.6 Mazda MX5 engine with a TD04L Turbo from an Impreza. The engine is controlled by an emerald K6 ECU. The injectors have
been swapped for RX8 red injectors and they are fed by a sytec fuel system. The intercooler was a cheap ebay jobbie with the required amount of mods.
The radiator was specifically built for the car with a decent core.
The car is now a runner with all the coolant and electrics 95% complete. I don't have a comprehensive build guide as i just don't have
time, but I do have lots of pictures if people are interested.
Comments welcome

Looks good. Very neat. Can I ask what exhaust manifold you are using?

There was nothing available off the shelf that would fit my needs, so i got a Mazda and TD04 flange and had them stuck together. The same with the
down and inter cooler pipe really.
There are still some tidying up jobs to do, such as securing water pipes and cables now that I know things are working correctly. The car is not
taxed or tested yet, so thing may be to change once a shake down has been done.

Hi Ash,
So any update then. By now you should have wired in the boost controller and played with the mapping.

Time has not lending it's self at the moment.
The boost controller is wired in, the vac hose arrived Friday so that should plumbed in this week. I've not run the engine up recently, I was
not overly happy with the AN4 sized hose. AN3 seems to be the preferred size reading blog posts. Too much oil was getting to the turbo at high revs.

Interesting conversion, one I am considering for next winter. Presume you used mx5 box, what did you do for the rear end?

Back-end is still the sierra diff. Might change it later on.
