Many Thanks Chris for setting this section up. Top guy.

I have ran into a side light savage switch wiring problem during my ZR build.

What colour wires have other Mac#1 builders connetced to term 1 of the sidelight savage. Ive used grey and have a problem. All was well when i had a switched live to terminal 1. When i changed to terminal 2 the power not only lit the sidelights but it also backfed the dash - this meant the DD2 was powered up and i could start the car - all without having the ignition key anywhere near the car - not good.

The problem lies with the wire i have used as the sidelight feed - problem is i dont know what other one to use?

Cheers Mark - someone had to do it. Maybe the first post should have been how i managed to get a large flame shooting out of my carb at the weekend and what the small flame afterwards looked like down the carb body!!!!

(Facet redtop being too powerfull is the cause - mechanical pump is the fix)

I was wondering when this would happen as there seems to be quite a few Mac1 kits being built.

Can't help with the wiring, I assume you have one of their looms as I can't see what difference the colour of the wire would make to it working or not

i should have said that it is a Premier loom, full set of savage switches, DD2 and all Sierra stalks etc removed. Hence it would appear that i have picked up on the grey illumination wire as the sidelight feed instead of the correct sidelight feed wire. The basic question is therefore what is the correct sidelight feed wire colour and where is this located on the premier loom (for Sierra based kits)??

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
