The Sun is out !

I hope everyone is either out in the garage working on their cars, or better still....... out in their cars enjoying the nice warm track, woops, I mean road.
On a slightly different note, for those of us that can't afford a digidash, how waterproof are ETB guages ? ( my speedo decided not to tell me how fast I was going the other day and I suspect moisture is playing a part...)

Probably about as waterproof as my Smiths ones will be. Just need to drive faster to stop the rain from hitting them...

On another note, I just found out that a 17A cable is not enough for a temporary engine earth strap when I melted the plastic sheath

Not too much work being done today, hangover to blame.

Only one word for it I'm afraid - Jelous.

Here I am stuck inthe office, looking outside to glorious sunshine - ideal blatting weather.

Even time & a half doesnt make up for it.

Ah well, theres always next month eh.

Ive been out in two heavy rain sessions.

The first was on my way to SVA and apart from a momentary blip of not working the gauges worked fine.

The second was last week and all gauges worked fine then as well.

Sometimes the speedo goes to zero but thats only when it stops sensing the magnets momentarily.

It was strange, on the way back from visiting someone, the speedo just didn't register, it was as if the sensor or wiring was disconnected, but after a couple of miles it started to work again. I might take the tunnel panels off and have a look at the wiring. As far as I can remember the wires coming from the sensor are tiny, so that could be the problem.

Overtime Jos, whats overtime ?

Think yourself lucky you get time and a half. I have the dubious pleasure of being a Manager which doesnt pay overtime. The only extra i can make is approx £60 on fuel driving to Bristol and back - except on Friday when i had a nice Policeman take that off me for doing 92mph near Scotch Corner (4 miles from my junction before home!!). Bloody sat nav only showed 85 as well, i had cruise control set.

I didnt get out for a drive over the weekend but did manage to give the car a good clean and polish. Brought it to work this morning though.
