Tax disc

Okay, Ive gone and bought a tax disc holder from a motorbike shop so have got the little tabby bit to secure it to the car in some way.

Problem is where do I secure it to.

The wind deflector (facing forwards or rearwards?)
The transmission tunnel top
The transmission tunnel side
Inbetween the seats
Wing mirrors?

Ive searcehd the archives and the results above are from some of the other manufacturers.

I was just wondering what othe rfellow MAC#1 owners had done before doing mine???

Ive used simple phillips headed self tappers to secure the tunnel sides, similar to bigrich. It would be very easy for a tea leaf to undo one screw and run off with the disc, but passenger side tunnel side is my preferred option so far, like you.

I haven't got a Mac#1 though I idid buy quite bit of stuff from them!

My tax disc holder is bolted to the outside of the scuttle in case I put a tonneau/cover on and a jobsworth wants to check the tax disc!

You could put it on the side of the scuttle so that it is visible on the outside of the car.

I like your way of thinking also Humbug. I presume you just bolted through the scuttle

Yes - big short fat bolt, several washers and a nyloc. I also PUd an SVA bolt cover on (it was too big but in Locost fashion I didn't want to have to buy an extra!)

i would (and have) put mine inside on n/s tunnel area, still visable from outside the car.did'nt fancy the outside of the car as i thought it may get borrowed. although i don't think it is much of an issue I think the big skinhead in the drivers seat puts most scumbags off.

I mounted mine inside the passenger footwell in the end. When and if I get a tonneau I'll mount it on the outside of the scuttle so it can be inspected if needs be.

Fair comprimise eh.
