105db i brought a cheap chinese tester for a tenner which was pretty accurate i tested my car at 106 with no db killers in and oulton,s machine read
107 ,just tell them your car only revs to 7k so you dont have to rev it too hard when they test it

They test your car properly at Oulton before you are let on track. You can try to lie about max revs but they know a bike engine revs to 11-12k. If
you are using the bike clocks then you pretty much have no choice but to come clean.
You have to pass 105db at 75% max revs, 0.5m from the exhaust.

Not sure about track days there, but when i used to race there, very very strict. Im sure that it will be the same on a track day as its down to
keeping the noise down to keeping the local area quite etc. Not sure what the db level was though.

it all comes down to local residents and restrictions over noise which are agreed with the local authorities (local council or environmental health
people or something?) they have agreed times and dates where there are no noise restrictions such as race days or no noise limit days...
I'd guess if you're 1 db over they wouldn't be too arsey, but if you're over by 5 or so, they'd have to protect
themselves?

This is not the case. The limit is the limit. Oulton is strict. If you want to get on track easily go to Cadwell or Anglesey. At Cadwell they will
test you at 6k if you tell them it's a bike engine. At Anglesey I've yet to see a noise test.

How do you lower the noise.
I will be running a ZX12R next year and think noise could be a problem.
Good ideas to an extra muffler ? Or better types ?
