The car isnt that quick. I think its sub 5 sec 0-60 and around 130mph

Also end of August for the ring is a little ambitious as you need to build, prep for iva, pass iva, register for tax etc. It all takes time.

I have only just passed sva and the car is at the factory having some adjustments made [you will understand as your build progresses]. I pick it up on Thursday, then apply for registration and tax. I guess that will take 2 - 4 weeks, then i can take it on the road.

I am sure there are plenty on here who can comment better than me on handling and speed.

Another good tip is search you tube as there are loads of clips on there.

One tip for your build. LISTEN to what colin and mark tell you. They will be right after all they've built and sva'd more cars than most.

Enjoy

the car will top out around 130 ish, give or take a few mph. but the 0-60 time is alot less than 5 seconds. Mine shows 69 in 1st gear which takes about 3.5 seconds to do.
Good handling is down to acurate set up of front and rear track, camber and ride hieght.
Chris(mac1ZR) has just built and SVA'd his in 5 weeks so anything is possible, just dont underestimate what is involved in building a car. I would say 6 months of spare time is about average to build a car. just depends on your circumstances and free time.

ZX10r build

Thanks rich, i think i have seen your car on a trailer at the factory the light blue and orange striped one. Looks fantastic what have you got planned next? I think i have made the right choice with a Mac#1 the car seems to have a high quality look about it, and mark and colin are top guys judging by this forum, bring it on!

Im a biker myself. You'll find a monster ZX10R so much fun in that!

I only have an old 918 Blade in mine and still get 0-60 in 4.1 so the digidash saids (need to be pretty hard on the clutch mind)

The guys at MAC seem very good. Mines in there now. Its an older one (2005) in yellow with a chequed flag down the side

I found the fun thing with these is below 100mph above that they arnt much quicker than a hot hatch - but cornering etc is phenominal!

Goodluck on the build! I cheated and got mine already done

I have had the operation on 17th feb 09 doing ok, back cracks a bit not nice + i am 2" taller now. It's called scoliosis [curved spine] put the operation off for three years as i have my own business [chicken farmer free range eggs]so i want to build this car as i cannot work for six month or lift anything heavy for two years! There two titanium rods and 17, 6mm screws.I am bored to death so the sooner i get this car the better.

Looking at those pics still cant believe how curved your spine is. Atleast your on the mend and modern medecines/tech. can fix ya!

Ive been racing for years and seen too many people have back injuries with no chance of recovery

Im still getting over quite a bad mx crash from sept 08. Still walking like some kind of gangsta! Recovery with big things like what you got always seem so slow but its pretty amazing what the body can do!

So good so far anyway, i am just so wee off because i only live for petrol powered things i have i jet ski quads etcs might not be able to ride anything fast again!I used to do three hour enduro on my ktm 525 mxc big gas tank one, that would keep me fit if not kill me.

Didnt realise you were into your crossers/enduro

Good bike the 525. I race a '09 CRF450 the first EFI mx honda. Keeps me pretty well built up! In the summer months when Im racing I look like a gym addict lol

Get where your coming from - im a massive petrol head myself. Like fixing, tinkering and stuff but put my hands up and admit im no builder!

You'll love it once yours is built. Coming from road bikes I thought these would be slow. There not 2 wheel quick but they dont hang about!

I came from road bikes (had a Gixer too) and motocross too. It was a bike accident that said fairwell to bikes for me.

I bought a CR 500 to race at the Weston Beach race. Getting the bike set up, took it out for a quick test after a new clutch and I hit a fence, 'supermanned' off the bike and smashed my knee to bits

You'll be very suprised by the performance, I only had an injected R1, down on power to your ZX10, and it suprised me.

Be warned you will get used to it and you will want more power

Turbo zx10r motor?

Yes i know, i always want more power! i am looking forward to driving this car on a wet road, if it wasn't for my back i was going to buy a ex british superbike from holeshot racing 200+ bhp at the back wheel. What a trackday weapon! I think marc/colin would sell alot of kits to bike nutters with the zx14 motor/ hayabusa lump. The dry sump kit and initial extra cost is the problem. Has anyone tried turbocharging a zx10r engine or is it just to expensive?

ZX10 pistons are made of chocolate, when forced.

Speak to Paul Fisher (he attempted one, had a few issues I believe) or MB Customs (turbo specialists).

MB Customs
