Getting flaking paint off fibreglass

As in title. I used some thinners, and I get about 1mm square off at a time. There must be a faster way. Ideas welcome as usual! Thank you in advance.

What sort of paint is it? Different paints, different answers

you could try acetone, it'll shift all sorts of paint off all sorts of surfaces ( don't use on clear plastic ) shouldn't damage gelcoat but as all instruction leaflets say 'try some in a place that won't be seen'

Hey my grandmother came from Bolton. Never been myself, but some family in Blackpool now, that I don't know very well. ANYWAYS, it's enamel. Thanks for the suggestions so far!

Enamel? That will be tough to get off. If you are respraying anyway, why not just abraid everywhere to key it up, then spray? If it has to go, I would get the random orbital sander out (and I dust mask!).
