DVLA and 09
Mr DVLA visited the house today [yes I was lucky] and gave the car a clean bill of health.
Hummed and arred about a few of the bits being new, but said he was satisfied and should have an 09 plate after he's checked the receipts back in
the office. tax disc etc should be with me within days.
For others info he was satisfied with one vehicle identification number which was on a plate. He advised stamping the chassis but said it wasn't
enforceable.

Thats really good flamez, could I be really cheeky and ask for a closeup on your dash if you have one? I.e. the buttons and steering wheel layout
I really like that whole area and wanted to see how you have dealt with warning lights etc.

Looks a very clean build, nice colour combo too.
Have you taken it out on a 'private track' yet

There are close ups in my photo archive.
Brake warning light is one of the savage "switches" which lights up red
Hazard warning light is a savage switch again lights up red.
The indicators switch is a 2 way toggle
The four small buttons are;
1 brake test
2 engine on/off
3 lap timer
4 dummy
HTH
Indicaters, ign, oil etc are all contained within the bike clocks.

Only up and down my close 100m max,
I'll wait for the plates because knowing my luck, and only living down the road from the police hq I would be caught first time out.
But not long now

Looking really good and well done on the 09 plate. Hope I can get the same.
I've gone for the same color combo but the chassis is black. Hope it turns out as well as yours.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

it's the same guy who just did mine - he said he would do his best for an 09 but I still ended up with a Q.
What were the new parts used that added up to the 09

Hi phil, nice to find another builder close by. We'll have to go for a blat some time.
Shortish guy with black hair and tash.
I had all new receipts with a recond engine. However he noticed the steering rack was second hand. He said it should be an 09 as he didn't like
giving "q"'s out [yeah right...]
Still I'll just have to wait for the postman. Have you had your paperwork and disk yet?

yeah I do use an apple mac but you should be able to see the site. Try archive on the kitcar build page.
I found the build quite intuitive and the steps seem logical with the help of colin and mark.
Looking back I would leave fitting the panels as late aspossible because they restrict access. My problem was waiting for parts. If you have them all
from the start then your build should progress smoothly.
Keep in touch if you want any advice or guidelines where to look etc.
