Any one keep Reptiles?
Used to have all sorts when i was a kid. At one point i had 3 common green Iguanas, a Leopard Gecko, a Tokay Gecko, a garter snake and some aviaries
with between 100-150 birds ( used to breed them). Well i sold it all up when i was 16-17 as i didn't have the time and missed them alot. Well
last Jan my Fiancee wanted a puppy so i used black mail to get my way as she hates snakes. She got her puppy and i got a Common Boa.
When i got her Jan 08 bout a few months old.
and today at about 2 years old, she is now just over 4ft and a nice girth. Such a placid snake.
Still has a lot of growing to do.
Any body else keep snakes/lizards etc?
What you lot got?

Thats a really nice snake. Would love a snake but aint going to get one past the better half! I have to restrict my reptile pets to a turtle. Got a
Mississippi Map Turtle which came to us be a slightly strange route but has settled into his new home really well. Hes great. Kids love him!

AAArgh i hate snakes!!
Looks a nice one though.
My mum has a tortoise. Its only small. She had one that escaped and tootled away. No she has another one.
I do seem to have 5 million spiders living in my garden and house do these count?

Be careful with snakes and young kids, I seem to recall a piece on the tv recently where a toddler was killed by one
Poor snake, only doing what comes naturally to it!! There's even a hint in the name...

I used to be into reptiles and fish. I looked after a client's Royal Python once. Not keen on eating anything other than live bait - so I
resorted to heating up pinkies with a hairdryer and dragging them round the vivarium with a piece of string!

Id love to get a pair of Bearded Dragons. Wouldnt do it until i had space for sizeable vivarium though. Dont like the food though - too noisy. Local
stockists are too far away so id have to breed it myself.
You must handle that snake a lot i guess. Looks really nice.

are Boas social animals?
I've interacted with a huge constrictor before in Ecuador which three men had to disengage from me.. Not sure it was after a hug .
Not scared of them though, it was the recently hatched batch of spiders that were large house spider size that made me get a wiggle on!
I'm just not sure of the appeal of a pet that doesn't have any drive to interact with you, all it does is rely on you..

Boa's are a very placid snake. ive never come across a nasty one. I have her out about once or twice a week just put her round my neck and she
will stay there for ages.
The worst snake i have come across was a green Anaconda, very unpredictable one minute will be fine the next will be trying to bite. You have to be
very careful with them in my experiance.
