alternative - MK Grill options - looking for some good ideas?
I got home the other day to find that the hot glue sticking my grill to the nosecone had failed.
So a quick question to the collective -rather than just re-glue it - has anyone see or have any good ideas for making my grill a bit more
alternative.
I currently have aluminium extrudued mesh, painted in gold and black (the car colours). but I was wondering if anyone had seen any other alternative
ideas, before I refit the tried and tested mesh.
Any images/pictures would be fantastic.
cheers
Craig

I really really want that hexagon extruded mesh on my grill that the Lambo Reventon has on its rear window thing. But alas I can't find any.

extreme replicas in hull sell the reventon grills and for the lp640. try them.
also attach the grills with fibreglass would be better i thinks.

You could either sikaflex it (difficult to remove temporarily if you ever need to) or what I did: fibreglassed 4 M8 bolts behind the return inside the
nose, then fixed on the metal grill with large washers and nylocs

Welded some M6 threaded bar to four brackets which were then riveted with pan-head rivets into the nose-cone return.
Grill then faces up to back edge of that return and use wing nuts to secure in case it needs removing at any stage.
Once you've decided on the mesh you really ought to drop over and we'll knock the brackets up.
Mine incidentally is 25mm square welded mesh (engineering coy's waste skip) with smaller galv. square mesh behind to keep out stones and
pebbles.

I always liked the woven grill styler stuff that you saw on ST24 Mondeos. Looks lidy clean and something different. I think you can buy it in sheets
too. I managed to get some for my Fiesta but cant remember where from.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!
