what engine

Well my blade engine in my Mk Indy has died I am know undeceided what engine to replace it with.

I am not sure wether to kep to a blade engine again for ease, but for drivability and ease of use im thinking of going to car engine,
so iam wieghing up my options

my question is which engine will be easiest and cheapest and to get all the bits for to go for car engine wise what im considering are:
Zetec (are those new ones any good on Ebay?)
Vauxhall Redtop
Rover K Series

and also is there anywhere i can get a complete engine package including transmission do any of the kit manufactuators do this?

many thanks for any help and advice given

its going to be much cheaper to stick another blade in it.

edit:

cec will mean buying everything like prop and exhaust. You could maybe use your bike carbs on it

It might be worth checking your chassis dimensions and in particular the width at the front of the transmission tunnel. You might need some fairly major chassis modifications to convert to CEC.

Also, to get a power/weight ratio comparable with the BEC, you'll need to make a few modifications to any of the engines you've mentioned.

Personally I'd go for another blade engine, it's gotta be the most cost effficient route. And besides, why pay more money for a lower powered CEC?

Indy chassis should be able to take a type 9 box ok, I'm almost certain the only difference in Indy BEC/CEC is the engine cradle itself.

So the OP would need a gearbox mount and engine mounts, plus a hole for the gearlever, maybe a different clutch aggangement, and a prop, of course, although he could sell his current prop and the cradle to someone who was going the other way.

If the OP is ok with the BEC thing, though, then another blade engine has got to be the right way.
