Busa help,

Not mine but a friend with a 2000 bike.

Not seen the problem just spoken over the phone, starts, bike revs immediately to 7k dont know if it wants to rev further tells me he hits kill switch before it does, butterflies fully closed, any ideas ?

As to be getting air from somewhere ?

TPS faulty ?

Ideas please.........

Idle control valve U/S (if they have them)?

Check all vacuum hoses are on as they should be, and then take a look at the idle screw which is right next to the throttle cable attachment to the throttle bodies. Back this right off and see if it changes the idle. Can't think what else it could be. It has to be air getting in from somewhere.

I think there is a cold start cable somewhere too. Check this is as it should be.

Seems to be revving really high if the throttle butterflies are closed....must be air entering somewhere...there is a cold start lever on the bodies, this could be intefering....engine needs fuel to rev that high....

If it is like my '99 Busa there is an idle adjuster knob. Could be that some joker has wound it all the way up?
