Just been mapped at Bailey Performance
Yesterday saw a 3 hour journey to trailer my Westy to Dale at Bailey performance to have my duratec mapped.
After a few issues with my throttle bodies and a couple of mods to the ECU that Dale likes to make, we were up and running.
Dale worked his magic on the rollers and he achieved 198.9 BHP. I did say it wasn't good enough as I wanted 200
Not had it on the road yet as I need to get it an MOT, but happy days.
Thanks for all your efforts Dale!

Whats the spec of your engine? Be interesting to know what you started with (from what car) and what you have changed

Bailey Performance seem to be getting great reviews at the mo! Definitely somewhere to consider when getting your engine set up

Assuming thats a standard Duratec, thats a great result....Well done. It's a great feeling when you finished a hard days mapping, knowing that
your engine really is running as well as it possibly can :-)

He certainly knows his stuff. Seems to get good reliable power from most engines!

The spec of my engine is slightly unknown. I bought it second hand as a rear wheel drive engine. Its on AT power 42mm throttle bodies.
Dale seemed to think it must be non standard to give me that power.

I think that I would have a bit more faith in his qualities if I knew what power you had to start with. However, it's nice to know what you have
now for future reference and will give some indications as to what you will have to do to get more power.....

Thanks for the great comments guys!
Just done some research, the high output version of the 2.0 duratec as used in the focus made 150bhp, dunnell race engines offer an engine package
based on that engine that produces 200bhp just with decent exhaust and management.
So, It would appear this engine is stock - dines make you wonder what power it would produce with a pair of piper 285s!
