MAC1 ZX10R WORX BEC FIRST TIMER? HELP?
Hi I wondered if any of you guys out there could give me some advice on my first ever bike engine kitcar.
I have had many many sports cars over the years and just about tried most of my childhood wishlist ha, I have also had a few CEC kit cars from pinto
to v8 but have NEVER had a BEC and have always wanted to see how they compare!!
so only 2 weeks ago I made the plunge!
a mac1 worx,
all set up for the track, full roll cage ect, ( although I have never been on a track before)
everything lightened as in wheels ect ect,
power commander
quick shift
no reverse lol (now that's going to be an eye opener)
whatever all the above mean I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about bike engines!!!
so a few basic tips on how to look after her would be really appreciated as in
how often does it need oil/service?
whats the process of warming the engine up on start up?
how do I actually use the bloody gearbox as its clunky and noisy compared to the CECs?
where can I get spares/parts as im not sure if the company still exists?
how does this compare with other BECs out there?
any advice please?
ps so far although its taking some getting used to ITS AWSOME!!!

You'll soon learn to get the best from the clutch and gearbox! What type of flatshift are you running?

Nice choice. I had a MAC 1 WORX, it evaporated one hot summers day.
Over full the oil, above the max line that you can see on the side of the gearbox case. They don't have dip sticks life cars, they having
viewing windows to check oil level.
The gearboxes are designed to take cluchless upshifts but not downshifts. As said before, give it beans then apply a pressure to the gear lever and
lift off the throttle as normal.
Have fun! !
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Think he means, 'cos it's boring.
I'll agree with what the others have said.
I change my oil once a year. So for me with local blats, trackdays and touring that's about every 5000miles.
I'm coming up to 7 years on the road now with no reverse. Not an issue as long as you keep it in mind. Never park downhill into a blind
space.Where possible roll in backwards and you'llget used to spotting what is slope enough to justrollbackwards. If your going to have to push
it in/out, it's better to unbuckle, jump out then push it in, rather than have to push it out and then faff about.

cheers, good advice il bear that in mind as you said its just remembering. plus also not to travel across the hills in real narrow roads when 2 cars
meet and one has to reverse!!? i can see a long stand off! ha

Tip 1 - don't post the same message in two different areas. I would have deleted one of them, but both have received replies
Tip 2 - don't put the subject in all capitals. Your thread is no more important than any other.
Tip 3 - Read the descriptions of the sections. The 'Wanted' section is for parts (or services), not advice
