Flywheel position
Help!! Ready to reassemble my Mk 1 - 2 litre Zetec with a 1.8 Zetec Escort flywheel, however forgot to mark position of joined holes (idiot) in
flywheel against the crankshaft. Can any body advise where the holes should line up, I did read somewhere that the joined holes should line up with
the sensor when the crank is 90 degrees (on cylinder 1) from TDC. Is this correct

Hmm i thought it could only go on 1 way?
I'm sure i didnt have that problem when I did exactly the same thing as you.
Mated a 1.8 flywheel to my 2.0 Zetec
I thought it was the missing tooth that the sensor picked up not the holes. I thought the drilled holes are where they balanced the flywheel at
manufacture?
In fact def sure - its the missing tooth you need to align with crank sensor...
Seems like ages ago thatI did this!

IIRC, they're spaced so it'll only go one in one position and still allow all the bolts to fit....
