The saddest news this year!
I'm gutted - for those of you that might not know.
There was a fire in an umbrella factory in Portland Business Park. Behind the MAC#1 building.
The flames caught the MAC#1 building and Mark/Colin tried to put the flames out - but couldn't - the whole place has been gutted.
Luckily, both Mark and Colin are safe! It was 10pm last night when they put the fire out and it started again this morning.
I can't believe such a tragedy has occurred to one of the best kitcar manufacturers/suppliers I know.
Mark is remaining very upbeat and quipped:
"I needed a clear out anyway" he then said, maybe we should be called MAC#2.
So good to see he still has his sense of humour (I don't know how he does it!!!)
So wishing the boys @ MAC#1 a speedy recovery and I'm looking forward to the open day

likewise - very sorry to hear the bad news, but glad to hear nobody was hurt.
Particularly hard work for a small company to deal with I would imagine.
Good luck to Mark and Colin, hope to see you back in business soon - I need some trim and an aeroscreen when you're ready

Was KrisMC's car still there?
Good luck to the Mac#1 guys in getting up and running again.
Cheers,
James

I don't think so James, it's at MNR, I hope!
Hope the guys get back up and running ASAP.
I wonder if there is anything we can do to help?

The reception needed a good clean out any way (and not from me before you comment Murray).
Won't take long and they'll be back.
All the best lads.

Any dealings I had with them were kind, curteous and timely, I'd recommend them to anyone - I'd just like to wish them all the best in
getting things going again.
Good Luck

Guys, not sure whether anyone is up for this or even whteher it is required but I think it's worth the offer.
I for one and I know many others would be happy to do whatever they can to help the boys at MAC1, as we've all said they always help others so
lets help them for once!
Can someone speak to the guys and see if they need help at this time with maybe clearing up, salvage, moving stuff, storage and just anything else we
can do??
I would be happy to go up there and I know also Ned and Seadog would be happy to come with me as I guess would many others.
If someone can speak to Mark or Colin and at least offer and ask the question and let us know it would be great.
Rich.

Ice just spoken with Mark. He and COlin thank us all for our kind sentiments & offers of assistance.
Due to the speed of the fire and the lack of time to recover stock there is not alot that we can do to help them, but he they thank us all the same
for the offers.
The good news is that they are all safe and sound, none of them were injured, and they are looking to get back up and running in as short a time as
possible.
A statement will be available shortly.

That really is bad news. From what has been said on here previously, and more than once, they seeem like a good crew.
Shame it didn't happen to others I could think of instead. Not that I would wish it on anyone.
Hope they are back in harness real soon.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!
