Tyre Pressures And Cooling

Hi Guys First Posting on here!
Very sorry to hear about the fire but fingers crossed you are back up and running soon!!
Was Wondering what tyre pressures everyone is running, at the mo I am running at 26 all round but that was my estimate!
Also, does anyone else seem to have problems with cooling, I know it is hot at the moment anyways, but at times we are running at upwards of 100 degrees when sat in traffic in town. i think my problem is probably an airlock as I only have a catch tank and my rad obviously sits below the top of the cooling system so I tend to top up with coolant at the highest point. However, was wondering if anyone else was suffering with the heat!!

I ran 22 psi on the cerb when I had it (17" wheels). I expect I'll be running about 18psi (13" wheels) on the worx when I finish it.

26psi sounds high to me. BEC or CEC and what size wheels?

I await the onslaught of people saying 'too high' or 'too low' etc...

I run Toyo R888s on a kit car weighing 535kg with a 50/50 weight distribution. 185x65x14.

Front pressure 20 PSI
Rear 14-16 PSI

Ideally you need a trak day and a pyrometer to measure the tyre temps across the width of the tyre.

If you're using road tyres with softer side walls then you will probably run hgher pressures.

R888s are semi-slicks with stiff side walls.

Oh and in the current high temps I 'm OK for water temps but the trans tunnel and diff at the back are getting almost too hot to touch! Common with other strikers also.
