Need a quiter exhaust.
Right i need to do something about the stupidly load exhaust i have on my indy, its fine for blasting about the country roads, but just way too loud
for any track action.
Would an R1 exhaust (the carbon one) be reasonable? Im unsure of what i have fitted on mine, but it looks a custom job.
anyone here got one for sale?
Sorry about my spelling, im an engineer and only work in numbers.

I haven't got one for sale but I removed the MK standard exhaust from my blade car and fitted an R1 end can that had been modified by someone
else on here. I've gone down from over 103 to 100.3 decibels at 7k revs static test. It doesn't get me onto the quiet tracks but it gets
me onto more circuits. I'm happy enough.

The standard R1 exhaust is quiter than a small straight through can but restricts air flow a lot. Better to fit a big straight through can. Or do
what I did. I made a small straight through can to replace my link pipe. it has a 130mm long can, 6" in diameter and reduced my exhaust noise
level by 5 dB. A single longer can should have the same effect. Also I found that a larger diameter can reduces noise as well.

Erm... you're going to need to go REALLY big. I seem to remember that it did 108db on a static test.
Having said that, the turbo should quieten it down a lot, so get on with it!
'tis rather small....
