alternator help required

just tried to fit new manifold and bike carbs but the bloody alternator is in the way, how has everyone else got around this problem.

As above the standard ford Lucas alternator is smaller and an easy fit.

I think you still have to fabricate brackets I have had to on my silvertop zetec with 40's fitted, we hhave also fitted a dhaihatsu alternator
to another zetec engine on the opposirte side at the bottom of the engine. Still had to fabricate mounts

You're gonna have to fabricate some brackets :/
Here's a couple of pics to show how we've done ours.

Later we I modified the bracket to allow for more that 10mm of adjustment.
I haven't got a photo of that yet though.
