r1 engine differences 2006 & 2008

Hope someone can help.. I have a kit that was ordered for the fitment of a 2006 R1 engine but I`ve seen a 2008 setup for sale.. Are there any real differences between the two, ie engine mounts, gear ratios, etc.. Also, are there any benefits of either? Thanks in advance

Im not sure about the 2008, but the 2006 model was a 20v, where the 2007 was a 16v. the 2007 had unlet trumpets that adjust with engine load/revs, where the 2006 stay fixed. the 2007 was drive by wire, where the 2006 is not. Fitment wise a 2007 will fit into the same frame as a 2006.

Hope this is some help

2008 & 2007 are very similar, likely some minors improvements but nothing of note that I have come accross.

For 07/08 you also get slipper clutch as standard and few extra bhp.
