I've recently bought a digidash2 and was planning to mount it behind the steering wheel, but unfortunately it clashes with column shroud.
I'm now thinking of mounting it in the middle of the dash. Has anyone done this as I'm not sure if it would be IVA compliant.
Cheers
Steve
As far as I can see, it would only fail the IVA if the edge radius was not compliant - otherwise can't see an issue with positioning?
yeah there is no requirement for them to be in any specific position,
The only RS im aware of are:
- A vehicle must indicate an accurate speed to the driver at all times - The speedometer must be capable of being read at all times of the day or
night.
- Where provided Identification of Controls, Tell-tales and Indicators;
1. Must be clear so not to cause confusion.
2. Must be on or as close to the controls, tell-tales and indicators as possible as not to cause confusion.
3. Must stand out clearly from the background.
Mine passed IVA in centre of dash. No issues!
I passed IVA with the digidash mounted centrally.

Brilliant thanks for help guys, guess this weekends job is mounting and wiring the dash 😀
Hi,
If it's any consolation I know someone who's car failed IVA with a digidash behind the steering wheel as the examiner felt the view of the
speedo was obscured depending on the height of the driver!
