Hi there.
The Mrs has a business and would like to sell the items online, are there any web site designers on here who could point me in the right direction.
Many thanks

Don't tell us what it/they are, but if you've not already then register the domain names you want to have.

I work for a company that specialises in web design, branding, search engine optimisation etc. We've done quite a few bespoke and off the shelf e
commerce systems recently.
Can't offer mates rates but if you want a proper solution the guys in the office are worth talking to. Pm me for more details if you want.
This is a VERY important decision, remember, you are going to be giving access to loads of your personal & business information to the person you
get involved with here & you are almost certainly going to be in a long term relationship with whomever you choose to do the work for you, they
need to be absolutely honest & 100% trustworthy. Any website will need constant updates, will you be doing things like price & product changes
yourselves (the route I would recommend) or are you going to want to just pass details onto the web designer & leave them to do updates for you?
(expensive!)
Any website, whatever the selling platform is based on (I would strongly recommend against Prestshop BTW, my site used to use Presta now uses Opencart
which is much more versatile) will need to be kept up to date with the latest software upgrades & security fixes etc. if you simply get someone to
"build you a website" & then leave you to it, it is almost certainly only a question of time before something major goes wrong & you
have a major crash on your hands - who has the backups, where is hosting done?, on whose servers etc? Do you have access to your technical guy pretty
much anytime, at what cost? Are you going to pay upfront for the site or is the designer going to take an ongoing commission?
All the above & a ton more is all stuff you need to be asking, as already said anything cheap usually works out much more expensive in the long
run.
I cannot recommend highly enough the services of Dave Robins, he did all the original work & continues to host & provide service for Furore
Products (www.furoreproducts.co.uk) & has also done the following websites https://laserpics.co.uk/ https://family-name.co.uk/
https://thefullset.co.uk/ http://livetoyoga.com https://crystallabyrinth.co.uk/ & he has also helped me out on numerous occasions with
the Furore Cars website
I will u2u his contact details as he doesn't want a link on a public forum due to spam etc., he generally only takes work on a recommendation
basis, so please mention my name if you do approach him

Just took a look at https://furoreproducts.co.uk/home
Points I like are the generally simple and consistent appearance of the website. Once on the site it makes you feel relaxed and it's easy to
navigate to products.
Cheers guys.
Yes we would like to upload pictures of what we would like to sell and there are a few variations to specific items, colour thickness of ? etc.
I will sit down with the mrs and lets see if we can get this going.
Feel free to message me or posting.
Mate from uni does this and is just up the road from you in Chorley.
Have a look at http://www.cicsolutions.co.uk/
if you go here it gives you an idea of the stuff they create http://www.cicsolutions.co.uk/lancashire-web-design/
Its not the same to have a shop of 50000 products than having just 50, that is where you should start from.
Then decide where you want to sell your products (countries, marketplaces ebay / amazon ) anda that will point you in a clear direction.
Design and colours are coming once you have decided the platform.
