Is this a 1.8 or 2.0L Zetec?? What you will need will depend on this - ie you can use the 1.8L flywheel on either size engine, but the 2L flywheel is
probably too heavy. A lighter flywheel will spin up better making the engine feel more lively. You also need to look at the water pump as the one on
the 2L engine spins the opposite way to the 1.8. Many fit the 1.8 water pump to a 2L engine, but some run the standard water pump off the back of the
belt instead.
Besides this, you will need a spigot bearing which should be available from Ford (try a search for the part number) to go into the end of the crank to
locate the type 9 input shaft.
You may also need a starter motor to suit, if you change the flywheel so look at the flywheel, clutch, clutch release bearing and starter motor as a
package
its the 1.8 escort engine from the gti i have, if i can get away with it i will just lighten and balance the flywheel.
the escort GTi engine is probably the easiest one for the conversation. You need a Sierra CVH starter, spigot bearing and sierra release bearing to match the box. The water pump won't need changing. Should point out however it's not just a matter of changing a 2.0l pump to a 1.8. The pump should be from an escort, the 2.0 and 1.8 mondeo pumps both spin the wrong way (in fact I think they are the same part).
lovley jubly hehe, thanks a million, one other quesation were can i get a good set of cheeper coilovers for the haynes car from? oh and do i need to

The escort sump is a bit shorter than the mondeo one but I still had to chop an inch of it to get reasonable ground clearance. You can use a steel one
from a 1.8cvh engine if you havent got the facility to weld ally.
VW polo rads are good for up to 200bhp and are the one most commonly used .
