Guys
I'm having real problems starting my van after a service. I think I have air trapped in the system and can't get diesel to the filter. Do
I need to prime something or bleed something?
I've cranked it over so much that it's on charge at the moment!
I can get it going on Start ya Bast*rd so its just a fuel supply issue!
Its a Merc Sprinter 311 CDi around 2001 vintage!
Thanks!

They can be an absolute nightmare to get going after a filter change. either remove the filter and fill with diesel or use a vac pump or pipe and good
old sucking on the pipe from filter to pump till the filter is full. then try to start. We sometimes use a bit of easy start type product to get the
thing running to save the starter due to constant cranking. and dont be tempted to rev it up untill its happily running well on its own.

Hi
If it's any help, when I worked at mercedes-Benz - the commercial fellas used to fill them with fuel before fitting as mentioned above
When you say youve had it serviced i presume at a garage? or have you serviced it yourself?

My tintop has a priming pump for this purpose. Sounds like you need to whip the filter out and fill it with DERV then try again....
as said you needed to fillit forst. whip it off and fill it up.. Itl still take a while to start but will go eventually.
A bit of fuel in the filter and some more cranking had her started!
Thanks for all the help!
