filling & blending holes in bodywork
I need to move some press studs that are fitted to the bodywork on my car. The original builder didn't put them in the positions as per build
manual and I now want to buy a second hand hood that has the press studs in the correct positions.
My question is how can I cover/blend in the old holes in the bodywork and make it look good.

Use grinder or high speed sander to very carefully create a dimple in the bodywork with the hole to be filled in the middle.
Bridge the hole with a small piece of mat and glass in.
Follow up with a quality body, filler block sand till it feels right.
Spray a mist coat of any colour paint but red, then with fine paper block sand it off.
any low spots will still have paint on, repeat the filling process till its right.

Just to clarify pete, you saying:
- Make a bit of a recess around the hole (rearside?)
- Fill hole with glass and resin (again, from the rear)
- Then flatten (from the front presumable) untill its right, using paint if needed to get it looking right.
Presumably this is with resin with the right colour pigment? (how do you colour match it?)
