Ebay problem help please
Is it just me or is Ebay attracting very odd people?
My wife got a present for Christmas it was a bottle of perfume, she didnt like it so sold it on Ebay unopened and new.
Woman bought it and my wife emailed her saying have you recieved it and would you leave feedback,2 weeks later the woman emails saying she has
recieved the item and it doesnt smell right. My wife responded saying that it is brand new unopened but if your not happy please return it and i will
give you a full refund,2 weeks goes buy again and the woman emails her saying she wanted a partial refund and she would keep it!she didnt want to
return it as she has done so with items before and not been refunded.
My wife said sorry i cannot refund unless you return the item.
3 weeks has gone by and all of a sudden she has left negetive feedback saying unhelpful seller perfume gone off.
Sent Ebay a message as they seam to have removed there contact telephone number suprise suprise!!!
What do you all think?
Thanks

perfume does not go off if kept in a sealed container.
I can imagine that the solvet i.e alcohol can evaporate and mask the perfume small differnet due to the change in concentration.
it is quite clear the buy is pulling a fast one to get the perfume at an even cheaper price, probably the same woman I saw in primark yerterday
kicking up a fus about some tracksuit top that hsould be reduced as it was the last one and apparently was on the reduced rail, not that I am
suggesting the chavette would have put it there herself.

Could the bottle have been tampered with before your wife got it for Xmas?

Personally I wouldn't be that bothered. Your always going to meet some proper odd people whether its on ebay or in real life. As long as
you've been paid are you really that bothered about 1 item of ebay feedback?

Just put a reply to the negative feedback as "perfume was in unopened sealed box how can it be off you idiot!" that should then show
potential buyers of your stuff that that particular buyer was a loon.

ditto Stuart_g.
Although I would go with
"perfume in unopened sealed box, full refund offered"
It might mean that you struggle to sell more perfume, but that doesn't really matter. The odd random negative feedback is normal.

Agree, best thing is to respond factually to the feedback, you offered a full refund, they refused to return, anyone reading it will see you tried to
do the right thing, and the buyer is a scammer!
Its hapenning more and more now sellers have next to no protection on ebay.

Thanks for all the replies guy's
It is so frustrating that these people do this when i have done everything as i should.
Really puts me off Ebay,i have just looked at the mountain of crap you have to go through to report this person to Ebay and i don't think i can
be bothered!!
There is something wrong with the whole Ebay process and if it isnt sorted out i think people will turn away from it before long

It`s probably the woman who `doesn`t smell right` and she doesn`t realise!
