Current Scrap Metal Value

Hi

Can anyone tell me the current scrap metal going rate?

I mainly have steel, but also have a cast alloy engine.
So going rate of alloy would be good as well?

Also, i have a 1800 zetec for sale on ebay, will i get more cash back if i sell it or weigh it in?

As long as its fast.... i don't care

If you take the engine in you will not get ally price due to steel components within

don't know for ally, but light mixed metals are around £150 per tonne and heavy steel around £425 around here

If you can give them just aluminium (i.e. no steel content or other cr*p) then I've received 80p to £1 per kilo in the past. Not sure what the price is at the moment but I'm sure you could google for something?

This was things like knackered engines blocks or alloys.

Never weighed in steel, not worth my time for the amount I have.
