Anyone want to build an R1 mini without sva?
Just been talking to my mate Jon over at lynx racing and he's developed a cradle that enables an engine swap from the standard A series to R1.
The main advantage is that as it is an engine swap without body/chassis modification, it should not require to go through sva.

i was under the impression that there was already companies producing these subframes for bikes engines?

There are but most of them rely on heavily modded subframes which means you can't put the A series back in. Not critical to some but this is a
classic car and someone may want to return it to original one day

aah right. that sounds like a better idea. just had a look on his website, and it sounds like its just some custom mounts that bolt on in place of the
original engine mounts.
i wish that my engine conversion was as easy as that in my mini. Im putting a nissan CG13DE engine in mine, but its going to take a bit of
hacking/modifying of the subframe to fit. Ill also be fabbing up a new inlet manifold to clear the bulkhead so that i dont have to do any mods there
avoiding IVA issues

I've done these previously, and about to do another with a Fireblade.
You still need to drill a few holes in the Mini subframe, or weld on a few tags.
Not rocket science by any means.
Getting a reverse is the biggest problem.

The rear engined ones are meant to be a real laugh.
The mini surfers from torque steer faily badly with the standard 1275. If i was going to do it, it certainly wouldnt power the front wheels
