Zetec smoking

Hi,

As above really, running a 2.0 zetec on dellorto's and whilst its sat ticking over or worst still in queuing traffic it starts to choke up and plumes of white/light grayish smoke bellows out, once we getting going again it clears straight away, no sign of any smoke on start up even when its been stood a while, or any other time really, so not convinced it could be stem seals, runs really sweet as well, did compression test and got 180 180 170 180, been told thats ok, doesn't seem to use any water, maybe a tiny bit of oil over the summer but nothing drastic, had carbs set up at bogg brothers a couple of years ago so wondering if it could be down to fueling.. unfortunately i'm not a mechanic so any ideas or advice would be great....!!

many thanks

Pete

What's the emmisions like? That would tell you about the fuelling.

How long since the head gasket was done?

I would check the carbs first then take the head off, check the bores, head flatness and put new oil stem seals on.
