LSD axle
Hi after lots of googling ,trying to get a di Dion set up ,I'm not having much luck .so I'm now thinking heather to stick with the live
axle set up but I would still want to get an lsd axle any ideas on what would fit and be strong enough to take 300+ bhp as that's what
I've got at the moment and running a cortina axle

The cortina could have been fitted with three different axles, English, Atlas or Koln. You can get lsd's for the first two not sure about the
Koln.
It's most likely to be an atlas and it's the strongest and heaviest of the three. "Daveb666" runs 300bhp through a 1.6 Capri
atlas with a plated diff from a Capri 2.9 special. It's the only Oem option but you can get aftermarket. Maybe worth a chat.

LSD axle
The axle fitted is the one which the diff build into the axle and not the one that bolts off and it's not fitted with a lsd

That could still be an Atlas or a Koln. Would bet it's an atlas.

Take a picture of the rear cover, the shape and spacing of the bolts is different between the atlas and koln.
As said by big wasa, it's more than likely an atlas.

Won't be an atlas if it came from a Cortina. MK1&2 had English, MK3,4&5 had Koln. You may find a rare South African V8 'tina with
an 8inch.
Never under estimate the ingenuity of an idiot!
