Maybe a job for Chris?
Mr Whippy - 30/1/08 at 03:12 PM

I know people have moaned before on this but I’m just going to moan again…

I am in my new job now, which I like. The only downside is, that this site is a bit obvious due to the avatars, admittedly I’ve never had a problem with them till now but it's an open plan office, no freezing to death now

Chris would you be able to set up a function that could hide them, a button say, I’m sure other members would breath a sign of relief if they could hide them, oh the Locost builders banner is at tad big as well, a stealth option??

Ta.

I second that!

Would be good to have a stealth version!!!

Howlor - 30/1/08 at 03:15 PM

Can you make it look like a visit report where we can customize logos etc!

irvined - 30/1/08 at 03:19 PM

That would rock - although my alt-tab skills have improved significantly since using this site it would be nice to make it look less blatent when i'm reading in the office.

In Internet Explorer:

tools - internet options - advanced

then scroll down about half way and untick the 'Show Pictures' checkbox

thats what I do when I'm at work!

Mr Whippy - 30/1/08 at 04:03 PM

I’ve tried that valiant effort but IT has blocked that method

paulmw - 30/1/08 at 04:09 PM

Great idea. You can always minimize the view to say wallet size and reposition the view half off the screen to the left. Therefore covering the avatars

StevieB - 30/1/08 at 04:13 PM

While you're at it, can you make it look like an excel soreadsheet so I can bugger about al day and people think I'm working?

If you have that kind of IT department you can be sure they are logging your internet usage anyway, so be careful how much surfing you are doing.

Good to hear you got out of the last job unscathed.

Confused but excited. - 30/1/08 at 06:01 PM

Have you lot ever thought about maybe actually doing some work at work?

ash_hammond - 30/1/08 at 06:03 PM

ssh tunnels are the way forward, and sit with your back to the wall.

THATS JUST TAKING THINGS TOO FAR !!!

At work i usually just have this site as a 5" square with "work" in the background and when anybody comes past i just click to the side and its gone Unless its an engineer walking past as i like to show them this site and what real engineering is like
