after looking at different rear hub's I decided to go on an alternative way.
I turned the original sierra hub carrier down to a nice round shape and made a nice hub from 14mm cds tube.
so check my website for further details

I like it.
In the stage of planning mine, you,ve made up my mind.
Nice lightweight upright but how do you plan to attach the calliper?
Mick
Are you planning to box in the framework? My only concern is it may not be rigid in torsion (twisting) which will come from braking and
acceleration.
Also, have you tried pressing in the bearings yet? Unless a sized plug was used during welding, a bearing housing can and will change shape and
size...

KB58 is right on both acounts.
If you get any resistance to fitting the bearings then this is what has happened. The tubes are triangulated in the cars side to side direction but
not in the cars fore-aft direction so they will be very weak in acceleration and braking.
I did about the same. No problem to push the bearings in. The housing is thick so there was a little distorsion. I mounted the calipers on the
diff.
