Which fuel pump for a 'blade engined MK?
idl1975 - 13/2/09 at 03:00 PM

My fuel pump appears to have packed up. In case I can't locate an identical item, can anyone point me towards a pump with the proper flow characteristics for a completely stock '893 blade engine on the OE carbs, or just the appropriate pressure/flow rate? Sorry if the question is a bit thick, but I don't want to get the wrong part!

Almost any carb'd bike pump should be Ok, Fittings and connectors add to the suitability.
Just don't pay £65.00 for the one on Ebay!

I got a blade one off a locoster, but when I fitted it - it was a duff.

It now has a carbed r1 fuel pump and works great.

Thanks guys. So pumps from any carb'd bike or something running similar pressures should work, despite the longer fuel run in the car?

yup - they just take longer to get up to pressure, so they are a bit noisey when you first use them - they work fine in use.
but I wouldn't use one off a 50cc scooter
