What tires do I go for?
Pezza - 30/11/07 at 12:18 PM

I want to get some rubber on my cxrs.
What to go for though?
From what i've read r888's are meant to be good.
What would you chaps recommend?

I fitted R888's from new. 3,500 miles over the past two years, on both dry and wet roads, dry and wet trackdays.

Can't complain, then again, got nothing to compare them too!?!?

Cheers

Mike

Mine are R888's and I love them, when up to temperature, not great on salted roads or puddles, but so long as you know there a semi slick it's fine, and i think there great!

Depends on the size and what the car is used for. I have purchased R888's for mine (on 13 inch rims). I cant wait to try them out. If the go as well as they look, they will be pretty damn special!

The downside is, they wear much quicker than a normal tin-top tyre and they cost a bit more - but they are designed for the job (as opposed to be designed for a 1500kg tin top!)

Another vote here for the R888's.

Ive got yoko Paradas on my 205 track car, they seem to wear well, good in the wet, awesome in the dry..

how did you get them for that? the site says £85 each.

Other tyres to look at are Yoko AO48 and dunlop ACB10 thats if you are looking for semi slicks like the R888s

Just phoned a local tyre and exhaust place and they do 4x 205/50/15 fitted for £282 inc. VAT which seems like a good deal to me. And xmas is just round the corner!
