Hello guy I've got a locost with a mk2 escort diff and I would like to do a electric reverse does anyone have any pictures of how this is done.
And where would you get the gear made. Cheers

Surely thats not going to be possible your way if he's got a Mk2 escort axle?
The axle moves up and down with the suspension, yours looks like a fixed sierra diff?

I'm afraid that, with the custom hardened gears, civic starter etc it stands me at over £600 at the moment - and I have no idea if the motor will
have enough torque to move the car (ratio between master and slave gears is not ideal.)
Everyone has missed the obvious solution of the engine mounted electric reverse, mine is dead simple and only cost £50. You just sandwich the gear between the output flange and prop and mount the motor to the engine. I think mine was an STM unit originally.
Considering that I never used my electric reverse I took mine off the car to save weight. (After breifly pondering the possibilities of reversing the
polarity to give me my own Kers boost . )
It is certainly possible to mount a reverse flywheel sandwiched between he diff nose and prop.
And easy enough to weld a set of mounting brackets to the diff to mount the starter, even with live axle movement the amount the axle is moving is
minimal and that can be catered for by using very soft (flexible) wire.
I have a picture somewhere I will post it if i can find it
Here's a photo of my reverse set-up fitted to the engine end with a gear sandwiched between the engine output flange and the prop.

Mine currently has a gear lever shift set-up, the reverse is also operated by a lever which you pull to engage the gears and then push the button on
top of the lever to rotate the starter and therefore move the car.
