Hi all!

I'm about to change my clutch on my honda CBR

I have Barnett springs and honda clutch to go in.

I'm gonna soak friction plates over night in the oil.

But is there any advice that I need to do before I start the job tomorrow evening.

Any special tools? Any torque setting on the springs etc

I have the Haynes manual but I'd like to hear your experience

Don't soak the plates in synthetic oil.
Use a standard mineral bike oil.

Check!
I have the lol I use in the bike a castrol oil that's good to go!

Do not over tighten the spring retainers, easy to strip the threads then the basket is toast.

Just use a 1/4" wrench and hold the head, not the arm, you can feel when the spring plate has touched the basket then just a little nip.

The book probably have a torque in inches per pound, not foot per pound, a massive difference!

And work around evenly when you remove and install, one turn per head then the next one.

Can't see the torque setting :-( never good!!

IIRC 9ft-lb.
Best to check on CBR forum though.

Its a very straightforward job, take your time and you'll have no problems.

Ok so all good friction plates are soaking need to get bit more oil to completely cover but all good!

But the plates do I need to soak them?

Also comparing to old both original honda they look different do I need to be concerned?
