throttle peddle movement
iiyama - 8/5/08 at 10:05 PM

I need to make the peddle travel longer as from idle to WOT is around 1" of peddle movment

Was thinking along the lines of introducing a bell crank at around a 2:1 ratio, maybe slightly less. Anyone got any other ideas?

cheers

Floor mounted or high-mounted?

Can you not just move the cable further from the pivot point?

high mounted.

Unfortunatly not. where it would ideally go is a mounting point for the peddle box. If I move it to the other side of this then it is very close to the rear M/C bellows and pushrod and I figure Mr. SVA might not like that very much.

Also dont I want to move it closer to the pivot point? Cant do that because of the aforementioned!

Sorry, stupid moment. yes, you need to move it closer to the pivot.

Got a pic, so we can see the problem? Where are you thinking of adding the bell crank?

How about adding a bellcrank? You could easliy change the cable movement ratio that way...

what about changing the size of the pulley/lever on the throttle body/carb to adjust your pedal to throttle movement?

I'd put a bell crank in.

Whats WOT?

wide open throttle ? maybe

iiyama - 9/5/08 at 07:59 AM

Yes indeed, WOT is wide open throttle.

Ill take some pics and post em up in an hour or so.

Would be happy to change the lever/pulley on the throttle bodies as that would be a much simpler solution then adding a bellcrank into the line.

OK, pics!
Movement strangly looks a lot more in the pics then in actually is!!!

This is where I was thinking of mounting a bellcrank ie where the throttle cable is supported.....
