Immobiliser

Just read the IVA article in complete kitcar and am wondering what sort of immobiliser can be fitted to kit cars, which installers would be interested and how much is it likley to cost.

I just got one of those negative battery terminal cut-off switches from Think Auto about £10-£15 IIRC.

Plus the standard sierra steering lock - that was enough.

I cant find a pic of it - but it's got a little green wheel you twist to disconnect the supply to the battery and then screw it back down to reconnect the supply.

That combined with steering lock was good enough for SVA - although 3 years ago

I think it has to be a minimum of Cat II thatcham (makes your insurance cheaper too).
I bought a Hawk HA-203 on ebay for about £25 and fitted myself.
I got an installer to check my work and issue a cert (required at IVA and by insurers)
