I have a Luego locost and built my car using some ford pepper pot alloys, i have bent the front arch holder to suit this wheel and also my rear arches which i got second hand are dax and i had to cut them down to reduce the width so the wheel didnt look lost in the arch.

Now when i have gone to buy some decent wheels i have noticed that the offset on the wheels are 0 which means that the cheap £250 minator minilights i was after have gone up to £450 because of the 0 offset.

I could probably re do the front arch to suit a slighly different offset but at the rears i have already got an inch spacer so am pretty naked well not naked but it means my wheels arent gonna look as sweet as i wanted them to.

What offset are people using.


Edit = Just realised my avatar. Thats just when i was comparing how much the 0 offset minilights were to some cxr's and guess what CXR's came out cheaper.

I am using ET38 which is std sierra offset

The other popular one is ET19, which is old RWD ford offset, mk2 escort, capri, cortina etc.

Basically the higher the offset will be closer to the centrline of the car.

Zero offset means the wheels will be further out, not further in, as Flak says the higher the positive offset the closer to the centre of the car. You don't say which pepperpots you used, but there are two types, Fiesta and Capri. Depending on which you have used the zero offset wheels might still need a spacer, although it will be a thinner one, or you might be able to loose the spacer altogether

I am using ET38 too. Sierra based system.

I got the wheels of a capri but was unsure if they were factory fit as when i called one wheel company he laughed at me when i said they were capri pepper pots and said they only came on festers.

Surely a wider track is better than a narrow track has any thought this to be an easy way to increase handling or is this difference marginal.

Ive still not sorted any wheels as yet but keep you posted.

I thought the Pepperpots came on the 2.8i Capri. Pretty sure my old man had them on his.

He was probably only a kid and doesn't know about rear wheel drive cars XR2 pepperpots were similar but with the FWD offset. Different style 14" pepperpots were used on Orion Ghias. They tend to use the pepperpot description for any wheel with round holes in it. Show him this website .
