Ignition module
Bananaman - 3/3/05 at 01:36 PM

Does anyone know where i can get hold of a new ignition module (the little black box) for a early Sierra.

Cheers
Michael

...and a little sachet of heat-conducting gloop that is spread between the module and the body of the dizzy. Otherwise you'll be looking for another module shortly after!

David

NB: You can get suitable gloop from Maplins, sold as heat-sink compound.

How early a Sierra are you looking for. Ive got a dizzy and amp that i wont be using from a 2.0i Pinto - approx 1988 (E-reg).

I would happily swap for dizzy and amp from 1.6, 1.8 or pre'85 2.0 Pinto.

Many thanks for the offer Darren, however me thinks that we are both wanting the same part.

May be worth checking your local motor factor ?
if you have an old one take it along to match it up

I have been told that new amps can be sourced for sensible money. never tried it myself tho' as i need the dizzy as well.

You should be able to get it at any motor factors. The Quinton Hazel website lists them in the Ignition parts catalogue (ignition bits at http://www2.qha.com/catalogues/ZC1-01.pdf & catalogue list at http://www2.qha.com/catalogue/downloads.asp)
