Anyone fit aerocatches to an MK bonnet?
I really want to fit these catches
but was just wondering if there are any
pit falls to watch out for?
The bonnet seems to be more vertical
towards the front and therefore more suited
to line up with the pins.
What offset or angle tolerance can these things
cope with ?
Cheers
S
I have the flush fitting Aerocatches fitted to the bonnet of my Mac#1 Worx, they were a bit fiddly to fit, but the result is well worth it.
Mark out the holes
Cut out the holes
Bond the catches on to the underside of the bonnet and clamp in position
Fit the pins to the chassis
The rear of the bonnet needed to be ground down to allow the catches to sit flush with the outside of the bonnet, you can see evidence of this here
aswell as how they fasten to the pins
The finished result from the outside
I was going to fit these too, so thanks for that post
one question, what did you use to cut the holes so perfect (if it was a dremel did you just use a standard cutting disk?)
Thanks
+1 what did you use......

i used a fine blade on my jigsaw use about 10 layers of maskin tape to protect the paintwork
Do you guys who use aerocatches use 4 of them?
I was thinking of using two catches at the back and somehow a pin that slides into a hole at the front.
Any pictures of your set ups would be great!
Mark.
And no issue fitting the pair next to the scuttle?
Or should I say geting the pair fitted to the bonnet to line up
with the pins?

If you use the non recessed ones then it is even easier. Depends on personal taste which you feel look best.
