i knew i would probably need power commanders but i wanted to see how far out the fuelling was ,the suprising thing is where the fuelling was out.
i expected to see the fuel lean out under wot but it worked the other way round going from 14-15/1 at the bottom end right down to 11/1 at the top . i think the design of the airbox must speed the intake air up as the bike moves quicker and with the ducting from the front of the bikes fairing must give a little positive pressure too.
196hp at the wheels at 8500rpm and 163lb/ft at the same is a good staring point it should gain another 30hp once i get the commanders on and mapped . the main thing is that its safe to use apart from wasting a bit of fuel

You got 196hp at the wheels from a tl1000???.......

yep im going back in a couple of weeks to do the mapping .the place is an rx 7 specialist and the dyno guy is a bit like martin he likes a challengehe seems to think that i should see 240 at the wheels once its done but i think that might be a bit optomistic. im surprised at how little the chain drive sucked up the power as a stock tl will make just over 80lb/ft so 163 is pretty good,unfortunateley i couldnt run each engine separateley without taking one of the engine chains off as for some reason running on one engine with the other in neutral only works at low speed ,when you try to run it up the other engine starts to complain and you can see the power drop off dramatically so i need to map each engine separately. the engine that we thought was running lean was actually worse than my original engine going down to 10-1 afr at the top end. i should ahve told him to take the run right to 10,500 rpm as it was safe on the fuel side perhaps thats why he see 240 at the wheels when its done.
the nos will be sorted early next year once ive got the best from it as it is. i lost one bolt at oulton last friday ,one of the gear linkeages worked loose but other than that it went well very neutral and plenty of grunt ,the bloody gear indicators are getting on my tits though i might bin them as you can feel it through the gear levers if one engine hasnt gone into the next gear.
