using donor fuel line
hughpinder - 6/2/09 at 11:09 AM

I was planning on using the fuel line from my donor mundano, which is 6.4 mm bore, 8.2 od(this should allow enought fuel flow for 300 bhp at 3 bar, so I guess its more than big enough!). The question is, is mr IVA going to like it, as it has absolutly no markings on it to say its ok for fuel use!

Anyone know?
Hugh

I think it needs markings, I remember somebody else saying that theres failed because it didn't have the appropriate markings.

bad boy!

how much is fuel line? how much would you car cost to replace if it went up in flames?!

buy new hose...god I though I was a cheap skate

Surely for the pric of fuel line youd be better with new. Copper microbore is £5 from your local plumber and rubber hose isnt much more then you know its all new

Wot they said ^^ but make sure "rubber" pipe is marked for fuel use and any clips are fuel pipe clips (i.e. not jubilee).
Cheers, Pewe

Thanks for the replies - I suppose I should have said its the metal fuel line I'm looking at, not the rubber and clips (which I will be buying new), and it's in perfect condition, otherwise I wouldn't consider using it (but I'm glad to see you're all concerned for my safety!)
Does the IVA/SVA allow copper microbore - surely thats not correctly marked either?
Thanks again
Hugh

Only the rubber stuff needs to be marked, so copper microbore or any other metal pipe is fine. That's my understanding anyhoo...
