Where to buy fuel rail?
adrianreeve - 7/2/09 at 01:38 PM

Does anyone know a good source of fuel rail blank - I need to make a new one for my re-spaced bike bodies.

Alternatively, if anyone can make one to order, I may be interested.

Cheers

Adrian

I got mine from these guys - even with postage from the states it was still a load cheaper then buying it here

Same as Claire, I bought it from rossmachine racing.

They sell on ebay too. Think it worked out about £40 or £50 when I got mine.

Still quite expensive, anyone know if this would work?

or this

They're from a zetec, so spacing should be correct, it are top feed injectors, that should also be ok, only thing i can think of is that it would foul somewhere on respaced gsxr throttle bodies

I know these won't work because it are side feed injectors:

Another for Ross Machine. They charged less postage to send it across the atlantic than the UK distributor wanted, and the rail itself was half the price...

How do you figured out where to drill the fuel rail?

This is something i've never quite understood and hence found the idea of using copper pipe attractive.

Not tricky, just measure the spacing of the throttle bodies and drill the rail to suit the injectors.

I respaced mine to standard jenvey / DCOE spacing.

I then just used an off the shelf jenvey item...

The same way as you'd work it out using copper surely. No matter what you use, at some point you'd need to measure the distance between injectors?

Aha - but with copper heating pipe you've got a little bit of leeway.

They fit into the 15mm T peices. So fit those and you then measure copper to fit between. If youre a couple of mill out it doesn't matter as you've got about 10mm either side of the T to play with and still get a good joint.

With the proper fuel rail I was thinking more than 1 or 2mm out and you'd be stuffed, hence the worry.
