Results since fitting Megasquirt.....

I fitted Megasquirt last year, and up until Saturday have been unable to get the car on the rolling road.....Anyway, we had a car club group discount for a shoot out, so I went along.......

Really didn't know what to expect as al the mapping was done from initial calculations, and on road tuning with a techedge....

I was estimating around 150-160bhp, but was hoping for 170bhp........

As you can see, I was taken back with the results....this was on a Ferriday 2ltr b lock with a ported CVH head and cvh27 cam. Running gsxr600 throttle bodies....could not really believe results, and the rolling road operator had to convince me the rolling road was correct!!!!!.

Nice work

It's always good to see that an amatuer (I assume) tuner can do this kind of work using Megasquirt, a wideband sensor and the open road.

Plus a fair knowledge and intelligence, again 'Well Done'

I expect thems Flywheel Horses, not Rear Wheel Horses.

Still Its a damn good figure...

Well done.

I am most certinaly an amateur who knew nothing about fuel injection until picking up dave walkers book just over a year ago.......

And yep, they are of course only flywheel number, you could lop off around 25 horses for bhp at the wheels......

Are we talking about a 2.0 Zetec engine with a CVH block? Surely you new you had a bit of power there with the way the car must run.

No - This is a Ferriday 2ltr block (which is based on the american 1900cvh block), with a CVH head which has been ported, and has a fairly long duration cam and solid lifters. It's been skimmed to increase CR slightly.

It has always felt quick, but the more on road tuning I did the more I was finding improvements. It's taken time to get the map right, but it's been a rewarding experience.

So, logic was telling me it couldn't be too much more than 170bhp at the Flywheel...However, I was wrong!....I really did have to question the RR operator after the last run!.
