Hi, my mnr supplied bosch 070 fuel pump failed the other day. i was wondering if anyone knows if theres a guarantee on items like these or not. It certainly wasnt electrical fault as no fuse went on the r1 wiring. only thing was it did run out of fuel but this doesnt happen on the tin top does it so is it fit for purpose?

EFI pumps will not last long without fuel, they overheat and fail very quickly as the petrol cools them.

If your pump is wired correctly into the injection it should stop when the engine is not running, limiting damage, if you have wired up seperately allowing it to run full time then I suspect its an own goal.

You do not need to buy this specific pump, any EFI pump that can achieve 4-5 bar pressure will do, I run my blade engine on one of these

It can fuel a 4 litre jag @ £25 posted, mine came next day, you cannot go wrong, the regulator just spills more fuel back to the return.

i used the same pump as well, bomb proof!

It was wired as in the bike - pump wires extended. The engine ran on fuel in the system till it cut out and pump cuts at the same time as the engine. After that brief period it ran of fuel in the pipes with no fuel in the tank and pump was a goner, literally seconds.

Did you have a filter in the feed to the pump. They don't like dust/grit/sand or other debris.
